Some medications are made of peptides including insulin which was developed in 1921. Most of our bodies produce insulin naturally, but Type I diabetics are not able to produce their own insulin.
Peptides may have significant benefits for many people. Some skin products contain peptides. Certain protein shakes include peptides.
Peptides are supplements and supplements are not regulated by the FDA like most prescription medications. However, it is important that if you are going to use injectable peptides (which in our opinion are most effective), they should be prescribed by a licensed provider who has studied the science of peptides, including risks and benefits.
